What does the East Midlands Regional Assembly do?
According to their website:
“It provides the strategic focus for integrating the development and delivery of regional strategy and partnership working under the overarching framework of the Integrated Regional Strategy.”

Nothing anymore. It disbanded earlier in March. I attended to make sure that it did because I didn’t quite believe it.
All of the powers will transfer technically on the 4th April I think, but in reality we were told they would within a week of the meeting.
That makes it a much more sensible handover than happened between Cllr Willmott and Cllr Patel as I hear Veejay was denied access to the office or use of the PAs time until after Council voted. I bet even Bush didn’t do that to Obama.
I bet though that the big chunk of what looked like Bowstring Bridge Cllr Willmott had as art/trophy wasn’t in his briefcase as he left on the Thursday, he would have been leaning over just a bit with 10s of kilos of cast iron in the bag.

It disbanded yesterday. Transferred today. Story in today’s Mercury.
