Super Ted ‘returns’
I’m told that Ted Cassidy is poised for a return to Leicester City Council after being nominated as candidate for next year’s local elections.
This is unconfirmed, so any further details or clarification would be appreciated.
I’ve no reason to doubt it though, he’ll surely be seen by many as an asset to any administration. He’s played major roles in big-name projects in the city over recent years – most recently as chair of the organisations behind both the Special Olympics and Phoenix Square.
He’s also previously served as a member of the council, and he’s got a media profile higher than many of the current sitting councillors.
“Quotes from him appear in local media more often than most backbench members,” said one former colleague.
